Disable ads in Windows Very simple

Microsoft has increased the amount of advertising in its Windows operating system. In Windows 11, advertisements now even show up in the Start menu (although Microsoft refers to them as ads for apps or Windows services as "recommendations"), and you will encounter full-screen ads for the Edge browser. While you can navigate through Windows settings to locate individual options to disable them, the influx of ads has prompted resourceful programmers to create tools specifically designed to eliminate them. Enter OFGB ("Oh Frick Go Back").
Upon launching the small program, OFGB presents a selection menu (refer to the image above) that allows you to choose which Windows ads you wish to no longer see by using checkboxes. For instance, you can disable ads in File Explorer or on the lock screen, and deactivate ads that pop up in the Windows settings menu. It also enables you to get rid of the various welcome messages that appear in different areas of Windows. The developer coded OFGB in C# and it eliminates the ads by making the necessary modifications in the registry.

After making your selections, in most cases, you will need to restart your PC for the chosen ads to vanish from Windows. OFGB is free and completely ad-free. You can download it here and find a description of the tool here. For additional options, Winpilot also removes ads from Windows 11 at no cost.
