Apple Call Recording And Call Transcript On iOS 18
Apple unveiled iOS 18, the latest iPhone operating system, during the keynote address at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2024 held on Monday.
A notable feature introduced in iOS 18 is the capability to record and transcribe phone calls, enhancing communication and call management on the iPhone.
With this update, users can now record and transcribe live calls directly from the Phone app. Essentially, the new call recording feature in iOS 18 enables users to record calls within the Phone app and receive transcriptions.
During the call recording process, all participants will receive notifications to ensure transparency and prevent any misunderstandings. Following the call recording, the newly integrated Apple Intelligence AI system in iOS 18 will actively transcribe the call's content, providing a written transcript of the conversation.
Apple's latest intelligence features allow users to effortlessly generate a concise summary of the main topics covered in a call. This convenient functionality eliminates the need to listen to the entire recording, enabling users to quickly grasp the crucial details. Moreover, Apple has exciting plans to expand this feature to include recording and transcribing audio directly within the Notes app. This enhancement will be available on iPhone 12 and subsequent models, further enhancing the user experience.
Apple is taking a significant step towards inclusivity by introducing audio and transcription capabilities to its users. This marks the first time that Apple is offering such features. Users will now have the ability to transcribe phone calls in various languages, including English (U.S., UK, Australia, Canada, India, Ireland, New Zealand, Singapore), Spanish (U.S., Mexico, Spain), French (France), German (Germany), Japanese (Japan), Mandarin Chinese (China mainland, Taiwan), Cantonese (China mainland, Hong Kong), and Portuguese (Brazil).
In addition to these inclusive features, Apple has also introduced other enhancements to the Phone app. These include a new search interface for call history, an autofill feature for phone numbers, and the convenient option to seamlessly switch SIM cards during a call. These updates aim to provide users with a more efficient and user-friendly phone experience.
