iOS 18.
The macOS Sequoia update introduces a variety of new functionalities, including iPhone Mirroring and a dedicated Passwords application. However, in addition to the prominent features that have garnered attention, there exists a range of lesser-known functionalities that can enhance your daily experience with your Mac .

 Safari Distraction Control

Reading articles without interruptions is a common preference among users. However, this can be challenging due to the prevalence of advertisements and other distracting elements on many web pages. Fortunately, macOS Sequoia offers a solution through the Distraction Control feature in Safari, which allows users to eliminate these distractions.

Safari enables users to remove not only advertisements but also any other elements of the webpage that may be bothersome. The browser retains a record of the elements you have chosen to hide, ensuring that you do not need to repeat the process during subsequent visits to the same page .

To begin the process of removing unwanted content, simply click on the Page Menu icon located on the left side of the address bar. From there, select the option to Hide Distracting Items and click on the elements you wish to eliminate. Distraction Control is also among the many underappreciated features available in iOS 18.

Change Your Wi-Fi Address

Trackers pursue users throughout the internet in an effort to accumulate extensive information about them. With the Change Wi-Fi Address feature in macOS Sequoia, users can mislead trackers by altering their Wi-Fi address while browsing online. This action hinders websites from gathering data on your online activities to serve targeted advertisements .

To configure this feature, access System Settings on your Mac and select Wi-Fi from the sidebar. Next, click on Details next to the Wi-Fi network to which you are connected. In the following menu, adjust the Private Wi-Fi address setting to Rotating.

Highlighting Text in Notes

I often jot down notes in the built-in Notes application several times throughout the day. However, those familiar with Apple's Notes app are aware that it lacks visual appeal. Thankfully, macOS Sequoia has improved this aspect by introducing a highlighting feature in the Notes app.

Now, your notes can be as vibrant as the ones you created during history class. To utilize this feature, open a note and select the text you wish to highlight. Next, click the Aa icon in the toolbar and choose the color icon located on the right side of the context menu; you will have the option to select from five different colors .

Record Audios in Notes

The Notes application now includes an audio recording feature, enhancing its functionality beyond the previously mentioned Highlighter tool. Users can record audio directly within the app, and it will automatically generate a written transcript of the recorded dialogue. Additionally, the app offers the capability to summarize the recording or arrange it into bullet points.

To utilize this feature, simply create a new note or open an existing one, then click on the soundwave icon. This action will bring up a recording window, enabling you to capture your audio note .

Math Notes

The macOS Sequoia update brings a revolutionary feature known as Math Notes, integrated within Apple's Notes application. Users can effortlessly input equations, and the app will provide solutions.

For those who prefer a more traditional approach, the handwritten option allows users to write equations by hand, which can then be solved by the Notes app. Should you wish to modify an equation after it has been solved, simply edit it, and the app will automatically refresh the solution .

Unit Conversations in Calculator

The Calculator application on Apple devices has traditionally been quite simple; however, with the introduction of the macOS Sequoia update, users can now perform conversions for currencies, distance, data, weight, speed, temperature, and additional measurements without the need for external calculator applications.

To utilize the conversion functionality, simply click on the calculator icon within the app and select Convert from the context menu. Subsequently, navigate through the different categories to select the units you wish to convert.

The Send Later feature is a convenient addition to Apple's Messages application available in iOS 18 and macOS Sequoia. This functionality allows users to select a specific time for dispatching important messages.

To utilize this feature, initiate an iMessage conversation and click on the plus (+) icon located adjacent to the text input area. Subsequently, select Send Later from the context menu. You may then click on the date or time to modify it as needed.
Message Scheduling

I prefer to reply to messages promptly; however, I find it challenging to engage in conversations while I am focused on my work. Therefore, the option to send a response hours later is incredibly beneficial for me. It allows for message scheduling up to 14 days in advance. Regrettably, SMS or RCS texts cannot be scheduled within the Messages application.

It has been a while since a significant macOS update introduced such a wealth of useful features, and I am pleased that macOS Sequoia offers an abundance of enhancements. It is important to remember that these are merely the hidden features; do not overlook the standard functionalities as well, such as the ability to mirror your iPhone on your Mac .
