Keep in mind that disabling direct messages from server members who aren't friends is only applicable to servers you join in the future. This setting will not impact servers you are already a member of.

You also have the option to instruct Discord not to utilize data, like your usage habits, friends, and games, in order to enhance its services and customize your experience. To do so, simply navigate to the How We Use Your Data section and switch off the options for Use Data to Improve Discord and Use Data to Personalize My Discord Experience.

On Desktop

To adjust your privacy and safety preferences on the Discord desktop application, simply launch the app and select User Settings by clicking on the gear icon located at the bottom left corner of the screen.

In the left-side menu, click Privacy and Safety

In the DM Spam Filter section, select the Filter All Direct Messages radio button. This will send messages that may contain spam to an inbox dedicated to this type of content.

Subsequently, disable the option for Allowing Direct Messages From Server Members in the Server Privacy Defaults area. This action will prevent messages from individuals who are not on your friends list when entering a server. The change will not affect servers that you were already a member of prior to adjusting this setting.

Kindly proceed to the section titled How We Utilize Your Data. Within this section, deactivate the options for Utilizing Data to Enhance Discord and Utilizing Data to Customize My Discord Experience. By adjusting these settings, you will restrict Discord from utilizing your data, including your interactions on the platform, your chat contacts, and the games you engage in, to enhance its offerings and tailor your user experience.
